IOG估計，其北海南部核心地區的天然氣儲量為4100億立方英尺(116億立方米)，其中包括3個氣田組成的Vulcan 中心開發項目、規模較小的Blythe 中心項目以及戈達德天然氣發現項目。

IGO還擁有泰晤士天然氣管道，并正在收購位于巴克斯頓終端的一個進口設施。

UK upstream junior Independent Oil and Gas (IOG) has agreed to sell 50% of its North Sea gas assets to CalEnergy Resources (CER) -- a subsidiary of US-based Berkshire Hathaway Energy -- as IOG looks to move its core project toward final investment decision.

IOG has estimated gas reserves at its core Southern North Sea development, which includes the three-field Vulcan hub development, the smaller Blythe hub and the Goddard gas discovery, of 410 Bcf (11.6 Bcm).

It also owns the Thames gas pipeline and is buying an import facility at the Bacton terminal as it eyes first gas from the project in the early 2020s.

IOG said Friday it had signed binding definitive agreements with CER to farm out 50% of its North Sea assets, comprising all of the company's upstream assets (except for the Harvey licenses), as well as the Thames pipeline and Thames receiving facility.

"The farm-out to CalEnergy Resources is a landmark transaction for IOG," CEO Andrew Hockey said.

"We look forward with real optimism to realizing the significant value in our portfolio," Hockey said.

CER has agreed to pay GBP40 million ($50 million) in an initial cash payment as well as agreeing to pay up to GBP125 million of IOG's development costs for the project.
